TENNIS HOLIDAYS IN SPAIN!
TENNIS HOLIDAYS IN SPAIN!
Wimbledon is fast approaching and all you tennis nuts will be glued to the television if anything like our staff here at Bookthatvilla! There is a wonderful new company sports-holidays.biz who are running tennis holidays for all tennis enthusiasts, young and old, beginner to advanced in a heavenly golf and tennis resort in South East Spain. The resort is Hacienda del Alamo in the province of Murcia. One of the luxury villas which bookthatvilla has on their website is found using the hyperlink above. Villa holidays need to have activities attached to them as well as the obligatory swimming pool, sunloungers and good wine! Try out Hacienda del Alamo for that holiday with a difference. The beach is still only 20 minutes away and La Manga the renowned tennis and golf centre in this area only 25 minutes away. However, my opinion only, La Manga has nothing on Hacienda del Alamo!

LOOKS LIKE THE PLACE FOR ME!
I could spend days trawling through villas all around the world and I do. We got back from our Easter family break in Spain and landed at Luton in the snow! We all felt very relaxed from the break but within a few days the stresses and strains of our hectic lifestyles started to bite yet again.

WHAT A SELECTION OF VILLA!
CRETE - SOMEWHERE I DON'T KNOW
We get some wonderful new villas listed everyday on our website. We spent quite some time last week working out if Lanzarote should be listed for search purposes under Spain or should have its own field. We decided that we need to expand the Spanish property fields to include the Canaries and the Balearics. Comments please!
Crete is somewhere I haven't considered until now. When new villas come on board we all browse through them and start imagining holidays there. This wonderful villa in Crete might just do the trick!

SPAIN STILL TOP OF THE CHARTS!
PROPERTY IN SPAIN STILL THE FAVOURITE FOR SECOND HOMES!
Second homes in the sun may be down as the credit crunch bites. However villas in Spain are still the Brits favourite choice for holiday homes in the sun. Click the link above and you will find a lovely villa for rent in Murcia on a top golfing resort.
Villas and appartments have been bought as investments for quite a number of years now but more and more people are buying them purely for their own and their family's use. The cost of maintaining holiday villas is always more than you budget for. Even in Spain the management charges to maintain a villa when it is not being used can be quite exorbitant. Local council tax, community charges and personal wealth tax all add up and with the mortgage rate rises in Spain nearly as steep as in the UK buyers need to be made more aware of what is really involved.
This makes the idea of renting villas in different locations each year more and more attractive. No hidden costs and somebody elses' problem.

TURKEY SEEMS TO BE THE PLACE TO GO! FORGET CRUISING!
Turkey seems to be the place to visit according to the travel sections of some of the top Sunday newspapers. I found this wonderfull villa (just click on the highlighted text!) in our Turkish selection of villas. It looks quite luxurious.
At the moment I have noticed that all the travel advertising is on cruises! Forget villas! My friend has just come back from an Xmas cruise in the Med. She had been so excited that she was not prepared for what was to come. Everyone seemed so old! All there was to do was eat! The whole ship load of passengers got dysentry and with gale force 9s most of the way half of the passengers disembarked at Lisbon and flew home! Cruises seem so glamorous but once onboard there is little to do but eat, sleep and laze around. OK for a few days but after that I think I would go mad!
Hence back to villas! I think I will maybe see if this turkish villa is free sometime this summer......

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO! NOW THERE'S A DESTINATION!
VILLAS IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO! HOW WONDERFUL!
It is always exciting every day to see the new villas listed on our bookthatvilla website. Villas from all round the world, the more usual places of Spain, Italy and France but we have had our first villa in Trinidad and Tobago. Problem is when villas come on to the site every day my colleagues and I in the office are sooooo tempted to book up. We spend more time drooling over the villas than doing work! However perhaps this new one might just tempt me!
Anyway we are hoping that now telephone numbers are appearing beside the search listings of all our lovely villas that more and more bookings will come through our exciting website. I never knew villas could be such fun and such an escape from this rather drab time of year! Roll on summer!

Stunning Spanish Villa on a 5 star Golf and Tennis Resort!
I think I am biased because this is my own personal villa in a wonderful corner of South East Spain. Along with a colleague we are setting up tennis holidays at this resort starting at Easter time. When I go to Spain I feel I have left this world completely, with all the stresses and strains of living (!), and died and gone to heaven. Life is so much slower, the sun is constantly shining and tennis and golf are on tap. There are numerous swimming pools for just chilling out round with that sumptious rioja. HOLIDAY IN SPACE!
Like all villa owners and renters alike I browse the Sunday papers at leisure over my capuccino looking at all the new travel opportunities around the world. Today, however, I don't think I was quite sold on the new offer of a trip in space. Being offered at the special rate of only £100,000 (£10,000 deposit secures) for 3 hours I think (??), I sadly declined to phone up and book.
I the hectic world we live I think the majority of us might be still favouring a nice bit of sunshine and sangria as a preference for our two weeks off. A bit of activity, golf, tennis and horseriding is very welcome but hanging upside down in a weightless capsule for a couple of hours isn't my idea of perfect relaxation!
Some more lovely villas added today. One appears to be a trulli in Southern Italy. Hope you all know what these are. I might just take a trip there to find out!

MORE NEW VILLAS!
We have had lots of new registrations over the last few days on our site. Check out the lovely Spanish property ID 334 which has just gone live! We have had another 5 today.
All those people who did not want to register their villas because of the old terms and conditions which charged a pecentage on bookings can now rest easy that there are absolutely NO CHARGES NOW FOR REGISTERING. There are no hidden costs.....Bookthatvilla is a completely free site.
Summer and easter holidays are now being decided all over the country by families deciding what to do and where to go. What about an activity holiday? I have a lovely villa with private pool in Spain (ID 114) at a wonderful golfing resort in Murcia, South East Spain, called Hacienda del Alamo. It is my little piece of heaven away from all this villa business! We are starting to run family tennis holidays at the fabulous new tennis and sports centre. Just send the kids off early morning for lessons and join in with the adults in an attempt to work off some of that winter flab. With Spain you can't beat the weather. In Murcia we were sold our property on the back of 320 days sunshine a year. Looking outside in England at the moment I wish I was in Spain. It is raining hard and blowing a gale.

ADVERTISING YOUR VILLAS
Today I amended our terms and conditions to show the new way our villa website works. There are NO charges at all for either registering on our website or when any bookings are made. Renters and owners will communicate directly. I know this will appeal to our faithful band of villa owners but also will encourage the hundreds of registered property owners to at last list their many properties.
Trawling through newspaper adverts, especially on a Sunday in the travel sections, I used to think this was the way to advertise my villas. About 3 years ago when bookthatvilla was in its infancy I thought it would be a great idea to take out an ad every Sunday in one of the important Sunday newspapers - a small box. I bet no one who reads this could guess how much that advert would cost (6 months only?). Well I expect you are sitting down if you are reading this which is just as well. The total quoted was £27,000 plus VAT!! The girl on the other end of the phone was so chirpy I think she thought this was a bargain. I could probably just about still buy a villa for that in one of the Eastern bloc countries! Anyway I decided against it.
Our wonderful programmer, Pete, advised me well when he said you can get all the coverage you need for your villa business on line if you know how to use the internet well. It is great to have a whizz on our ever expanding team.
Our stats are growing daily and the choice of villas is expanding and some absolutely stunning villas are making me wish for more sun.
